Preservé™ breast augmentation works by gently stretching the internal tissue in the breast to create a pocket for the implant. A Motiva® Channel Separator is used to create a precise pocket with little damage to the surrounding tissue. The incision is created in a very concealed area in the breast crease, keeping the scarring to a minimum.
This method is preferred by many patients because it doesn’t cut the tissue, keeping the trauma to a minimum. Thanks to this, the breasts can maintain their structure, nerves, and blood vessels while minimizing bleeding and swelling.
The procedure uses adaptive and soft Motiva® implants, such as Ergonomix®. These implants are made to feel and look natural, taking a teardrop shape when you’re standing or round when you are lying down.
The no-cutting augmentation method reduces the risk of bleeding, and the no-touch technique keeps contamination at a minimum. The procedure is less invasive compared to traditional augmentation, which means that only local anesthesia is required.
Recovery from Preservé™ breast augmentation is shorter compared to traditional methods and requires little downtime. Most patients can return to their daily routine in about one to three days and return to work within one week. You may feel some discomfort upon returning home, but otherwise, you should be able to move your arms for daily home chores. Many patients can go out the same evening.
Expect some swelling and bruising after the procedure, as the breast tissue needs to adapt to the implant. That said, it is less pronounced compared to traditional methods, with most of the swelling going down within a few weeks. Dr. Cohen and Dr. McMillan use a patient-centered approach to ensure a smooth recovery, both earning the title of “Top Doc.”
You can engage in light exercise after four to six weeks. While you usually feel like your old self within a month or so, it can take up to two or three months for all the swelling to go away and for the stretched tissue to heal.
Make sure to avoid lifting heavy objects within the first four to six weeks of the procedure, as this causes strain that prolongs the recovery. You may also be advised to wear a surgical bra within the first few weeks to support the implant and keep swelling to a minimum.
Preservé™ breast augmentation results include breasts that feel soft and natural, moving around with your own movements. Thanks to the composition of the implants, they will not feel too firm or stiff-looking. After the swelling decreases with the recovery, the implant will “settle” in its pocket, and your movement should no longer be restrained.
While you can see the initial results immediately after the procedure, the final results are better enjoyed after three to six months. The Preservé™ breast augmentation results can be long lasting. You can maintain the results by using a supportive bra and following a healthy lifestyle, as gaining (or losing) weight can affect the shape.
